Wake-Up Call

 

I look at life and see dishonesty

people governed by greed

chasing money and power

 

Others drowning in their apathy

washed away by the tide

more depressed hour by hour

 

All caught up in the illusion

seeing just the physicalities

of this vivid life-long dream

 

There’s no way out of their confusion

mis-informed by programming

they accept things as they seem

 

Forcing their children to conform 

to suffocating ways of thinking

soul destroying for them all

 

And when power mongers start a war

I want to shake the brain-washed masses

shouting: “Hey, this is your Wake-Up Call!”
